Avengers: Endgame hits theatres this week, and it looks like the team (or at least, what’s left of it) will be showing up in Fortnite as well. We had seen hints that everyone’s favorite big purple bad guy, Thanos, was returning to Fortnite a couple weeks ago, and now a tweet on the official Fortnite account suggests this time there will be more to the limited-time event tie-in.

The tweet reads simply, “Whatever it takes,” along with the date April 25 (Endgame premiers that night), and the hashtag #FortniteXAvengers.
It’s accompanied by a picture of a Fortnite character holding Captain America’s distinctive shield, positioned such that the shield is prominent in the foreground. It’s slightly different from the version seen in the films: The Fortnite version appears beveled along the detail lines, with the red stripes and star raised from the rest of the shield’s surface.

While it’s highly likely this means the Thanos LTM is going to change from last year’s version, it’s not clear how Cap’s shield will mix things up. Perhaps the indestructible, vibranium-steel alloy of the shield will be able to deflect Thanos’ laser ability, but will players holding the shield get to change into Captain America – or another Avenger?
